The future careers of America.

Quote of the Day:

"Simply put, we can’t keep preparing students for a world that doesn’t exist. We can’t keep ignoring the formidable cognitive skills they’re developing on their own. And above all, we must stop disparaging digital prowess just because some of us over 40 don’t happen to possess it."

My Thoughts/Feelings:

All throughout my schooling career, everyone I came in contact with has been preparing themselves for a job that exists today. Not once have I thought that maybe other careers will ever exist. After learning these facts for the first time, which happens to be after 4 years of preparing myself for my future life, I am beginning to think that I may not be as prepared for my career path as I originally thought. All the classes I have taken have taught me about the past and the present but never really about the possibilities of the future. If more college level classes were aimed towards the career opportunities that could make themselves dominate in the future then maybe more students would be interested in taking classes, or maybe more students will graduate with a major or career path that they truly love and not one they feel stuck with.
