Wordle and Poll Everywhere

Wordle is a tool used to turn texts into a graph like picture. These words can be distorded and changed to match what the individual wasnts it to look like. In this class, we used wordle to make a picture out of the words that we thought defined a good teacher.The Poll Everywhere website lets people set up polls for their peers or just anyone to vote on. Poll everywhere was used as a way that we could get to know the other students in the class a little bit better.

In a classroom, Wordle can be used with any English or Lit class very easily. Students can be assigned to make one based on characters attrubitues/flaws in a literary piece. It can also be used in a creative writing or art class to maybe describe something. Poll Everywhere could be used in a science class or a media or a math class. Students cold be assigned to set up a poll and record their findings on a graph, or write a report about they found out.

These tools could be used to promote future learning in classrooms by showing students that they can turn their thoughts into creating projects, or can learn about people from everywhere using a public poll forum. Teachers can use the polls to learn more about what the students want to learn or what the feel they are lacking.
