Digital Story Telling Projects

For class we made digital stories. For my story, I made up a little saying about teaching and found some pictures to help illustrate the point I was making with my saying. The ISTE/NETS standards are all about integrating technology into classrooms to open student's eyes to technology and what it can do for them. Using digital stories goes along with these standards because when students use digital story telling, they are doing their own individual things so they are using their appropriate learning styles or learning how to work with other students to maybe complete a problem solving activity. Digital story telling is also a good way for teachers to lecture in some of their classes, or can be used in meetings or parent teacher conferences.

I thought up a lesson plan that would allow teachers to work with other teachers in different subject areas. A history teacher could assign a time period to a student. An English teacher could assign the student to find important literary works from this time period. The art teacher could assign the students to tell about the art history and some works from that time period. All the teachers shall allow the students to work on these stories in their class for a week or so.

  2. I feel like Digital stories are amazing. I agree with teachers putting them into thier lesson plans. What if you are a student and you see your teacher showing something that looks like a movie! Who Didn't like movies in class? I sure did! Then students can create their own and be a director. Amazing Tool !

  3. I like your digital story, good job! I agree, I really like digital stories. I've never made one, or considered how useful they'd be before this class, but I could definitely see myself using this tool in my classroom. I like your idea of how to use it, I think that would be a great idea!
